About the stay
Accommodation options under the COSLEC programme are designed to suit different budgets, comfort levels, and cultural preferences while providing a safe and welcoming experience.

Rooms may or may not have electricity depending on the community, and cooling is typically provided by a fan where electricity is available. Toilet and bathing facilities are usually shared with the host family. Guests can expect warm hospitality, home-cooked meals, and a unique opportunity to experience everyday life in rural Ghana.
Urban Homestay
Guests stay with carefully selected host families in urban or peri-urban areas. Rooms have electricity and fans, and most homes provide a private bathroom. Some accommodations may also include television and other household amenities. This option offers a comfortable cultural experience while maintaining close interaction with local families and communities.
Hostel Accommodation
Hostels provide simple but comfortable lodging for guests who prefer more independence. Rooms typically have electricity, fans, and access to television. Bathroom facilities may be private or shared depending on the hostel. Guests can enjoy a social atmosphere and convenient access to local services and transportation.

QUESTIONS?

What is Charitrip?

A platform that connects travelers with charities with available space to accommodate travelers.
These accommodation may be originally designed for volunteers, but Charitrip aims to destinate it also to welcomes conscious travelers looking for meaningful stays.
Charities can offer experiences and flexible ways to get involved — always optional.
The goal of Charitrip is simple:
to turn travel, especially accommodation, into something more meaningful — supporting real causes and creating real impact.

Not necessarily.
Travelers have full freedom over how they spend their time.

That said, many hosts offer optional volunteering opportunities, as well as experiences connected to their cause and local activities in the area. In most cases, the organizations you stay with will also share how your contribution supports their work.

The best approach is to speak directly with the host to understand what’s available and decide what feels right for you.

1. NGOs, charities, and purpose-driven communities list their accommodation for free.

2. Travelers can explore and search based on the causes they want to support - between other filters.

3. Once they find a place, they connect directly with the host to agree on everything:
dates, activities (if any), type of stay, and price.

4. All payments are arranged directly between both sides,
and the money goes straight to the host.

5. For the traveler: To access the platform and these types of stays, travelers subscribe with an annual fee.
This helps keep Charitrip running and growing — reaching more conscious travelers and supporting more impactful projects around the world.

Your stay directly supports real causes
From social impact to environmental projects and local communities. And by sharing your experience, you help these initiatives grow —
through the most powerful tool: word of mouth.

For NGOs and hosts, it’s completely free to Responsible travelers pay a €60 annual membership to access full details and connect directly with purpose-driven hosts. This fee helps maintain the platform and supports the growth of a more conscious and responsible way of traveling around the world.

All payment details - including amount and method - are agreed directly with the host.
Together, you’ll discuss and decide on the option that works best for both sides.

On the platform, you’ll find key filters and essential information to help you choose the right accommodation.
Final details such as dates, pricing, and specific conditions are agreed directly with the host.
You’ll be able to contact them once you have an active annual membership.

Every new listing goes through a careful review process to ensure the organization’s core mission is genuinely focused on creating positive impact.

That said, your feedback is essential.
After you confirm your destination, we’ll reach out by email so you can share your experience and let us know if everything meets expectations.
If we detect even the smallest red flag, the listing is subject to a strict review process and may be removed from the platform.
