About

UG “Demos” is applying for the Volunteering opportunities because we strongly believe that solidarity, civic
engagement, and youth participation are essential for building a healthy and democratic society. Our organization works to
empower young people through education, culture, and community engagement, which closely aligns with the core
objectives of the Volunteering.
Our motivation to participate in the programme comes from our long-term commitment to addressing societal challenges in
our community. For years, we have been working to encourage young people to develop critical thinking, social
responsibility, and active citizenship. Through our projects and initiatives, we aim to combat issues such as corruption,
social exclusion, lack of opportunities for youth, and the migration of young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through our experience, motivated team, and strong commitment to youth development and community engagement, UG “Demos” is well prepared to successfully implement European Solidarity Corps activities and contribute to the programme’s objectives of promoting solidarity and addressing societal challenges.
Miloš Popić is the Project Manager and Voluntary Service Coordinator within the organization. His primary responsibilities include project coordination and mentoring, as well as the design, planning, organization, and implementation of seminars, training courses, and youth exchange projects.
He has more than 10 years of experience in the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) and the former European Voluntary Service (EVS) programmes. Within this role, he is responsible for supporting and coaching both sending and hosting volunteers, helping them overcome any challenges that may arise during their volunteering experience.
Miloš actively applies various non-formal education methods and techniques, achieving excellent results in youth learning, intercultural dialogue, and personal development. Since 2012, he has personally mentored more than 50 EVS/ESC volunteers, providing them with guidance, mentoring, and all necessary logistical support during their volunteering activities.
He has participated in and led numerous conferences, seminars, and training courses related to youth work, volunteering, and European cooperation. Some of the projects and initiatives he has been involved in include “World Life Experience,” “Youth Power for a Common Future,” “Trivago Group in Bosnia,” and several ESC projects such as “Volunteerism to Solidarity,” “Volunteers for Peace,” and “Peace Academy.”
In 2012 Miloš graduated at the University of East Sarajevo, Faculty of Economics Brčko of the District, Department of Business Informatics. He wrote teheses about International marketing strategy.
Miloš is highly motivated to use his knowledge and experience to promote European values, solidarity, and intercultural cooperation in the Western Balkans, contributing to the development of active and engaged young people in the region.
